We are back with another installment of ‘let’s obsessively analyze The Bachelor franchise’! It’s The Bachelorette’s turn this time. I analyzed 10 seasons of The Bachelorette and their top 5 contestants to determine which Zodiac signs get chosen to be The Bachelorette, which Zodiac signs make the top five, which signs win, and who’s actually compatible. I know I said that my Bachelor post was the most dramatic blog post ever… but this one may take the cake.
Let’s get started!
If you want to be The Bachelorette, be an Aries.
It’s no surprise that there are so many Aries bachelorettes because 16% of the top 5 bachelor contestants are Aries. No one does revenge better than an Aries (except for maybe a Scorpio) and there is no better revenge than dating 30 men on national television. Aries are fun-loving, assertive, adventurous, and they can definitely handle everything this show throws at them.
The second highest number of bachelorettes are Virgos - we love a rational girl who knows exactly what she wants!
The only Zodiac signs who haven’t been a bachelorette are Cancer and Sagittarius. Sorry ladies.
Let’s get to the men…
If you want to be in the top five… be a Scorpio
They’re alluring, emotional, assertive, and they’re playing to win. Scorpio men end up in the top five more than any other sign. Taurus, Leo, and Virgos also do pretty well, which tells us that our bachelorettes are looking for serious, committed men.
If you want to win… be a Capricorn
While only 8% of the top five contestants are Capricorns, they make up 26% of the winners! Like I said, these bachelorettes aren’t messing around. Capricorn men are mysterious and guarded at first, but once they give you their heart they’re all in and are one of the most committed signs. If you’re looking for a stable, honest, and hard-working guy, go with a Capricorn.
An Aries or Gemini man has NEVER won The Bachelorette! They are just too unpredictable and risky for a show where you have to choose a forever partner in ten weeks.
Also apologies to all the scorpios who made it to the top five and didn’t get the girl! Scorpios are intense and jealous. I can’t imagine they handle the whole ‘my girlfriend is dating four other men’ thing or the ‘I have to propose to someone after ten weeks of knowing them thing very well (hi Brendan).
How similar are the top two contestants?
Not very! These gals are really exploring all of their options. What I love about these bachelorettes is that for the most part, they choose two men who they’re compatible with for entirely different reasons. Most of the time the final two men are completely appropriate matches for them, so they can really use their final days to figure out if they’re compatible in terms of their values and future goals.
When they do have astrological similarities, it’s in the area of their personality that deals with action and emotion which makes sense we’re usually attracted to people who have a similar energy and demeanor.
How compatible are the bachelorette and the winner? How compatible are the bachelorette and the runner-up?
Pretty compatible! Good job ladies. Not only are most of our bachelorettes compatible with both the winner and the runner-up, but 60% of them choose the person they’re more compatible with.
Let’s talk about the bachelorettes who chose the person they were less compatible with…
With Astrological compatibility, the “percentage” of compatibility is only one part of the picture. You could be 100% compatible with someone who doesn’t share your values or future goals and then it’s really not going to work out. You could choose someone you’re less compatible with because you love to be challenged in your relationship and you want someone who will help you grow as a person. Funnily enough, 2 out of the 3 bachelorettes who have stayed with the person they chose picked the person they were less compatible with! (Good news for you Tayshia!)
Even though 60% of the bachelorettes chose the person they were more compatible with… only 1 of those couples lasted!!
So how many of these couples actually make it?
Well not many... The Bachelorette actually has the same success rate as The Bachelor. So when Chris Harrison says "There's a good chance you'll meet your wife/husband tonight" before the first cocktail party what he really means is "there's a 33% chance this will work out but it will make great TV regardless".
What does all of this tell us about astrological compatibility?
That it’s a tool to help you understand your relationship better. Ultimately, astrology is not going to predict the success of your relationship, but it can help you work through your relationship problems with a more thorough understanding of yourself and your partner.
